On the occasion of International Environment Day we want to remember one of the most inspiring actions in which we had the pleasure of collaborating at the beginning of the year.
This is our collaboration with the Fundación Global Nature, through which we were able to contribute to the recovery of 6 hectares of the Marjal del Moro wetland, classified as a protected area, located in Valencia.
Wetlands play a fundamental role in conserving the environment, and they are disappearing three times faster than forests due to climate change. In the last century, between 60% and 70% of wetlands in Spain have already disappeared.
The works of Marjal del Moro began on December 26, 2022, with the commitment to harvest 6 hectares for the recovery of this ecosystem. The biomass generated from this action is distributed among farmers and ranchers in the area.
In addition, for World Wetlands Day, an activity was carried out with students to promote sustainability and preservation of the environment.
The action is supported by the European LIFE Wetlands4Climate project, co-financed by the EU through the LIFE programme.
